About Tessa Paul

  • Biography
Hello, My name is Tessa Paul and I am a self-taught Anglo-French artist, who seeks to raise awareness about the rapidly fading beauty of our world, with bold and colourful abstract artworks. Most of the subjects present in my works simultaneously represent a passing emotion: freedom, claustrophobia, joy, peace, fear, abandonment, which are sometimes clued at in the titles of each piece.

These emotions are often what drive me to pick up a paintbrush and start a new piece. To add to the psychological scene, I carefully explore various colour palettes designed to sooth and satisfy the mind of the audience. My tools consist of stretched canvases or canvas boards, acrylics, spray paints and inks. Though I really enjoy painting XL canvases, I have recently started painting on smaller surfaces to make my art more affordable and adaptable to a wider pool of buyers.

My studio is currently located in north-west London, but I tend to take my work with me when travelling around, as I love drawing inspiration from my surroundings.

My work has so far been exhibited in both London and Paris. Some of my pieces can currently be viewed at the Century Soho Members Club in London as well as TV Chef Paul Merrett's restaurant in Wimbledon. I have been featured in TATLER Magazine's September, October & November 2022 Issues.
