About Tanya Bilous

  • Biography

I was born and raised in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine in 1987, a city on the western side of Ukraine. I studied music and violin at high school. I also studied fine art , but at that time, I couldn’t find the right motivation to pursue a further interest. I applied for psychology studies, a discipline that well suited my ability to deepen human emotions and feel helpful.

I started professionally doing art at the age of 27 after three years of private studies with a well-known artist Lyubomyr Khudiak. Along with art, I worked as English-Ukrainian interpreter for 8 years. I presented my paintings at many personal exhibitions in my city, as well as participated in collective exhibitions throughout Ukraine. In 2022 I had two solo exhibitions in Sweden, one of them at the Museum of Modern Art and Design Vandalorum. My paintings found homes all over the world.

    Event: Landscapes?

    Dates: 18 Dec 2022 - 11 Sep 2023

Venue: Vandalorum Museum of Modern Art and Design, Varnamo, Sweden

Every day going to work, taking children to kindergarten or school, jogging along the river or having a walk in the forest we notice the beauty of the nature surrounding us. Every day the nature and landscapes are changing due to the weather or seasons, or even our mood.
Everything that we have ever seen, experienced, heard or felt stays with us forever. We might not remember it, but our subconscious does.
There are landscapes that stick in our memory or in our hearts once we have seen them. The most memorable moments in our lives when having a blast will bring out landscapes connected to those moments. Those memories can be triggered by the sound of train, river, plane or voice; smell of rain, fall, fire or water; vision of trees, fields, mountains, buildings or roads.
