About Tamar Payne

My work puts landscape centre stage, using colour and the effects of light to give visual pleasure. My landscapes are the multiple ones we carry with us, memories of the landscapes of childhood, all the places we have lived and loved and the landscapes of travel, all of which enter our imagination and become dream spaces. I produce varied series of work: paintings that explore colour, pattern and the forms of flora and fauna. One series of these paintings is highly colourful with heavily worked surfaces, and the other series more muted and minimalist, with slight shifts on colour and tone, the detail picked out by the difference between matte and gloss surfaces. I also produce silkscreen prints which continue with the themes of my paintings but have allowed me to explore the beautiful effects of printmaking layering. Selling on Art Finder will allow me to move beyond the group shows and art fairs I participate in and reach a national and international audience and market.
