About Suzsi Corio

  • Biography
My work has been selected for, exhibited and sold at several prestigious exhibitions including the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition 2022, Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour at the Mall galleries 2023, 2021, 2019 and 2018, the Royal Watercolour society contemporary watercolour exhibition 2019 and at several National Open Art group shows in London. I like to work in a series, taking time to develop many ideas using a particular theme. Recent work has included London cityscapes, collaged mixed media landscapes and also a series of dress 'portraits'.

My work has involved using experimental painting techniques ever since I studied constructed textiles at the Royal College of Art in London. Textiles, texture and pattern continue to influence my paintings.

My paintings are often built up using a variety of processes including layers of textured gesso, watercolours, inks, acrylics or oils and are then sanded and re-worked to develop a unique and enigmatic identity. I also create digitally manipulated art prints which I sometimes incorporate into my paintings using image transfer techniques . My work is currently in private collections in the UK, USA, Europe and Australia.
