About Stela Chilingirova

My name is Stela, from Bulgaria. I've been an artist for 20 years now.I paint using oil paints. I like how in a way they carry the spirit of the old craftsmen, how they're practically timeless and well preserved , the way they mix together, even the way they smell. I love bright pigments, painting with large strokes and experimenting with new combinations of colour and contrast. I rarely use a brush, but a painting knife instead, also known as a pallette knife. When I see something I like that awakens feelings of excitement in me I try to recreate it on the canvas from my own point of view. My paintings have participated in art exhibitions in my homeland, as well as in Greece. I have had experience with selling some paintings over time, as I had an arrangement with a local businessman who was buying my paintings and then exibiting them in different galleries. Due to several circumstances, I have not had the opportunity to go full time into painting. However it is time to dedicate myself to what I love most and make more profit out of it. That is why I think that Artfinder is an excellent opportuniy for me - to pick up again my passion and get in the world of professional art. I was referred to Artfinder by fellow artists, who have so far been very successful posting their art pieces on the website. Their feedback is overwhelmingly positive. The way the art pieces are displayed and advertised, the large audience, and knowing my art will be a part of something big is what led me to Artfinder.
