About Sofya Mikeworth
Biography
Sofya Mikeworth was born in northern Russia in 1972 and discovered her passion for art at an early age, beginning with watercolor painting classes in childhood. Her journey from Russia to rural Kentucky influenced her perspective, blending her early watercolor roots with the rich, detailed expression of oil painting.
For more than 20 years, Sofya has lived in the picturesque countryside of Mount Vernon, Kentucky with her husband and two children. Inspired by the beauty of nature and everyday life, she specializes in oil paintings that capture wildlife, landscapes, children, pets, and farm animals.
Her artwork is characterized by vibrant colors and an uplifting spirit, aiming to bring joy to viewers by highlighting the sincerity and warmth of life’s simple moments. Sofya also enjoys painting portraits for friends and family, further deepening her connection to the people and places that inspire her.
