Biography
As an artist I am inspired by nature, drawn to landscapes which I find visually exciting. I try to capture the beauty of natural colour and light in my work. I enjoy creating illusions and my aim is to evoke a strong emotional response.
To try and create these effects I add layer after layer of different colours that blend and merge on the canvas. Coming from a textile background I often scratch at the surface to reveal other colours underneath creating textural interest. I like to work on canvas or various weights of watercolour paper using mixed media.
