Biography
They say travel opens your eyes, so it's no surprise that Sian Storey's paintings are turning heads. Don't expect city scenes or seascapes - Sian spends her travels absorbing the flora, colour and patterns of foreign places, like the pink blossom of a Japanese park, or the cool blue tiles of a Moroccan riad.
The beauty of nature is a common theme in Sian’s paintings, yet paradoxically it's her passion for urban street art that ensures her work is so vibrant and textured - look for the splashes of spray paint dripping over her delicate brushwork.
Back in her studio in leafy Hampshire, England, Sian loves painting birds and wildlife, but also creates beautiful figurative paintings of women, which are infused with emotion - powerful, yet fragile. Sian’s art has featured in the Independent and Metro newspapers, as well as the websites of BBC, The Guardian and The Telegraph – so now would be a good time to invest in this emerging artist.

Who?
This is an opportunity to invest in the British artist Sian Storey. Painting is her passion. Based in Basingstoke, Hampshire, she can often be found painting the most beautiful things in signature colours and brush marks.
Sian has featured in The Independent newspaper, The Metro newspaper, as well as the websites of BBC News, The Guardian the Telegraph, and Time Out London. She has also featured in exhibitions at Hampton Court Palace, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and Trafalgar Square, to name a few iconic places.
Her background
Sian holds a First Class Honours in Fine Art from Southampton Solent University. Since graduating she has successfully sold her work locally and all over the globe - hanging on walls in New York City, Berlin, Bilbao, Bahrain, Melbourne and Canada.
Biography
Sian loves to travel, and this directly inspires her work. Japan, in particular, is a continual influence – its nature, its culture, its symbolism and most importantly, its colour.
Her work sits somewhere between fact and fiction. The fact - painting recognisable things: birds, animals and women. The fiction is using vibrant colour, spray paint mists, pattern, blossoms, brush marks and the layers of a painting.
This unique method of painting is a deliberate choice as it alludes to the memory of a place, often a place Sian has directly experienced. When travelling Sian is really drawn to mythology and folklore and is inspired to explore these tales directly in her work. She loves stories where the people and characters are familiar but their experiences are dreamlike and ethereal. She loves colour and imagination.
Sian’s tools vary depending on the type of image she is making, and although her favourite tools are a spray can and a paintbrush, she’ll sometimes use cardboard strips to drag paint onto a canvas.
The palette of blue is predominant throughout her work as she says it reminds her of the sea in Pagham, West Sussex, where she grew up.
