About Sheron Smith
Biography
Growing up in the beautiful city of San Francisco colored my artistic perspective. I am strongly influenced by the ocean, wind, rocks, sun, moon, and the city. These are often reoccurring themes in my art.
Throughout my life I have always been involved in artistic endeavors. Although my MS is in education, I have completed art related course work. I am self taught and work as a full time artist in my home studio. My work has been represented in galleries, shows, and exhibitions.
I create much of the texture in my paintings using a painting knife with acrylic paint and mediums. Different media such as lightweight pumice, sand, paper, acrylic mediums and other media create high texture my paintings. I often contrast texture with smooth glazes in the same painting. Contrast is the essence of my work.
