About Sean Briggs

  • Biography

Sean spent over thirty years working in publishing, mostly with top magazine brands. He was part of the Professional Publishers Association (PPA) Technical team in London advising on all aspects of publishing and was a regular speaker at Media Industry events. In 2020, Sean became a full-time artist and illustrator. He now sells his work internationally through galleries, social media, on-line stores and his own website.

Sean’s sketch-a-day project, started in 2013, has built up a large social following, with his Pinterest board having over 500,000 views per month. He contributes work to books and magazines, and licenses his creations to diverse businesses.

Sean’s illustration and sketching style is a combination of traditional graphite, watercolour and ink on paper with digital finishing and preparation for print. His focus is on the quintessential aspects of Britain, whether it is the wildlife, the landscapes and landmarks, or the people and their activities.

Sean was born on the Pennine hills of West Yorkshire, where his love of nature developed. He now lives with his family in a small village in Buckinghamshire, close enough to London for work but still in the countryside he enjoys.

“I strive to capture fleeting moments with fluid, unconstrained strokes, aiming to convey emotion in its purest form. Whether sketching in the wilderness or painting in my studio, it’s my passion.”
