Biography
My works are realistic, colourful portraits and critters in acrylic on canvas or board. My paintings are based on my own references; models pose and dress according to the theme of the piece. My attraction to stories, phantasy, the Pre-Raphaelites, the pop surreal art movement and magic surrealism shows in my art. In my work - often with a touch of imagination - there is a mood of mystery and subtle emotions.
Currently I am working on a series of paintings named ‘Realms’ in which I explore perspectives, landscapes and different story settings for my subjects. Common thread in these works is a blue feather which appears in any sort of way and often seems to lead toward another realm, beckoning the subject or viewer to step through an aperture, on a quest to ultimately find the goal one yearns for.
Some of my work is created for the themed bimonthly auctions on Facebook of my art collective 'Stardust Art Collective'. I also contribute art to the international @78 Tarot art collective, which publishes themed tarot decks through Kickstarter every year.
My art has been exhibited at art fairs, (international) galleries, museums and more.
