I love light and colour! This is the main focus that runs through all my artwork.
A lot of my work is drawn directly from life which allows me to indulge in expressive and gestural mark making and I
really enjoy using a broad, bright, modern colour palette.
I also work from photos which enables a longer period
to set up poses, study detail and interpret the figure or portrait.
I'm largely a self taught but I have also had the pleasure
of attending workshops held by two contemporary figure drawing artists
who I admire greatly:
Caroline Deane - Hampstead School of Art - 2017
Crawfurd Adamson - The Beacon, Hastings - 2015
I have enjoyed exhibiting my work in group shows in Essex and
London since 2015 and joined the Colchester Art Society in 2018 and have shown my
artwork in their annual summer and winter exhibitions held at The
Minories Art Gallery.
I hope you enjoy looking through my artwork here on Artfinder!
