Event: Portals

A series of abstract oil paintings made by me, with frames made by myself and my dad.
‘Portals' refers to the moments of lucidity when we become aware of something greater than ourselves and our tiny human problems. They provide us with a direct channel to the source of all creation. By engaging in art, nature or ritual we can create the conditions that bring about this awareness, though sometimes they come about all on their own.

A series of surreal, figurative paintings based on female empowerment and the power of healing.
These women reflect my own strength back to me. They have carried me through my transition of becoming whole again after my divorce, just as I have carried them into being.
Biography
I live in Byron Bay where I was born and raised.
I have a background in realism and in more recent years I've been interested in colour and abstract painting, which helps me unwind after a day of working at my day job.
Creating art gives me direct and immediate access to my intuition and a way of operating outside the logical mind. It's a way of processing the world while also giving form to my inner world.
Outside of work and painting in my studio, I'm either hanging out with my homeschooled daughter or teaching art workshops to teens.
My art is all about the process of healing and evolving, and I hope my work will uplift your space and your spirits.
