From a young age, I was enchanted by the world of colours and the magic they could create on a canvas. Growing up, the gift of a beautiful set of oil paints opened the doors to a lifelong passion. My journey took a more defined path when I graduated from the prestigious Glasgow School of Art, where I honed my skills and nurtured my artistic vision. Over the past 20 years, I've had the privilege of being a professional artist, showcasing my work in numerous solo and mixed exhibitions both in the UK and abroad. My artistic journey has always been driven by a deep-seated passion for painting and art in general. Each piece I create is a testament to my dedication and love for this timeless craft. I am incredibly fortunate that my work resonates with people, and it brings me immense joy to know that my art is part of private collections around the world. Oil paints hold a special place in my heart, stemming from those early experiments with that first set of paints. There is something profoundly captivating about the richness and versatility of oils, and they have become my preferred medium over the years. My work is characterized by strong compositions and beautiful backgrounds that capture and define forms, creating narratives that viewers can relate to and find meaning in. Light plays a pivotal role in my paintings; it is the element that breathes life into any subject or location, and it is often the most inspirational aspect of my creative process. Throughout my career, I have built positive working relationships with galleries and patrons, resulting in repeated shows and a growing following. Whether working from my own ideas or fulfilling commissions from individuals and organizations, I strive to produce collectable art that is contemporary and timeless. Selling my work through galleries both in the UK and abroad has been a fulfilling aspect of my career, allowing me to share my vision with a diverse and appreciative audience. I am particularly known for my evocative animal paintings, which capture the spirit and essence of wildlife in a unique and compelling way. Recently, I have embarked on an exciting new phase of my artistic journey, focusing on colourful, textured figurative paintings.
