About The Artist: Richard Ray, Brookline, Vermont USA

"Art is like a story. It has a beginning, a middle, and an end. The reader or viewer might identify with something in the story or picture. Then, the artwork is like a leaf flowing freely down the river. They can follow it and see where it takes them."

I am an abstract mixed media artist. I have been interested in the arts for as long as I can remember.
I have worked in all mediums and on most subjects. My favorite medium is the human figure and face.

Each piece of art is crafted with layers of different textures and mediums. This process has been the focus of my work for the past three years. It involves acrylic painting, photography, inks, oil sticks and pastels. The final art work is designed in a photo editor program. This technology gives me creative freedom to add in my abstract paintings and photography.
