About Regan Bevóns Phelan

  • Biography
I am self-taught and have expressed myself and my ideas through art from a young age. I experiment with styles to keep the vibrancy fresh and aim to produce energetic paintings. I have a background in theatre and my paintings often have a sense of theatre to them, a scene a story or a place to step into.
I have painted since childhood and continue to learn, try new techniques as I develop. I am restless and am always thinking what to try next rather than to try and produce the same subjects and styles with every painting. I use a wide combination of painting techniques which I have discovered through my appreciation of numerous great artists whose works I admire.
Over the years I have experimented with styles from realism to abstract, naive and impressionistic. This has led me to develop my current tendency for expressionism and impressionism in both portraits and landscapes.
I am always endeavouring to develop further.

My artwork is priced to reflect the size, materials, the amount of skill and technique that has gone into an individual painting.

All paintings are carefully packaged in a cardboard box, padded with bubble wrap and 'fragile' tape to prevent any damage to the artwork. All prints and photography are packaged in a reinforced envelope.
I use recycled packaging wherever possible.

Every time I sell a painting I am so thrilled and grateful for the interest in my art.

I am also a writer, currently working on a trilogy of stories for middle-grade children aged 9 - 13 years - or indeed for anyone who enjoys mystery, adventure and magic!
    The first installment:
'Secrets of the Sapphire Sea ~ Guillemot' by R. B Phelan
    - is published and available to buy through Amazon.

Thank you for your interest in my work.
