About Paul Ward

  • Biography
There's always an itch, I think it's triggered by thinking a certain way for long enough. On the right days you're almost seeing through people, places, whatever you're looking at. The brain breaks them down into their constituant parts, light and shade and tone. The biggest eyesore of a car park can give you the itch to paint on these right days. Presenting something in just the way it appeared that moment becomes a mission. It's like trying to bottle joy, you'll never do it, but fuck it, why not try? That's why I love to create, why else are we here? I'm looking for a global outlet for the work I produce and ideally somewhere where clients can request commissions too.

Manchester born, I've recently moved to Lyon, France to be with the person who makes me happiest!  New scenes, new politics, new smells, new tastes, new language, essentially endless inspiration.  My Artfinder profile at the moment is mostly landscapes, as I've been lucky enough to have a lot of my more political work accepted into a local gallery.  However, fret not!  New works of this ilk are underway and I'm sure will be seen here shortly.

Always happy to bring a vision to life, I also gladly undertake commissions.

Event: Once they're gone, they're gone.

    Dates: 1 Feb 2020 - 1 Apr 2020

    Venue: Amal Gallery, Lyon 69006

What does the title refer to? Could it simply be the limited availability of the paintings themselves, perhaps, a more pressing matter, your rights, my rights, our planet.

Whilst the whistle of truncheons still echoes in our ears, the time is ripe to do all you can to save the life you cherish. So, protest, make noise, make art, get up off your arse and realise you're not the only one!

    Event: RBSA Portrait Prize

    Dates: 25 Jul 2019 - 31 Aug 2019

Venue: RBSA, Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, RBSA Gallery, 4 Brook Street, St Paul's, Birmingham B3 1SA

The Royal Birmingham Society of Artist's portrait exhibition summer 2019
