About Paul Chambers

In choosing the abstract/gestural style of painting I hope to transfer energy, excitement and freedom of motion into a visual image. I am inspired by the complex organic elements found in nature, always experimenting with colours and movement to create exciting new compositions. With the freedom to create without any strict plan I allow intuition and spontaneity to take over. The result is often a surprise to me, however there is always a sense of balance and harmony that can emerge out of disorder in the ambiguous and mysterious nature of abstraction. We are all travellers in time and space, personally experiencing just a miniscule part of this tremendous unimaginable vastness and I hope my paintings can in some way express an alternative to physical reality which is pleasing to the eye while stimulating the imagination in the viewer.
