About Patrick chevailler

Born in Bordeaux, a region of France known more for wine than art, Patrick Chevailler grew up admiring the paintings of his father, thinking he would never be able to do the same. Little did he know his work would one day become internationally recognized and he would be considered one of the world's finest marine artists.

In 1972, Chevailler, then 26, became a doctor, setting in the countryside of Southern France. While helping others was a person- ally satisfying experience, he spent his free time helping himself by painting. And sailing.

It was on the tiny islands of Les Saintes, south of Guadeloupe, W.I., that Patrick Chevailler began the transition from doctor to painter. 

While his technique is classical, oil paint on canvas, his style and interpretation is innovative. His scuba diving experience, digital image and documentation of fish, coral and sponges combine for incredible details.

His work is on display through out the Caribbean. Gallerie in Antigua, Bahamas, Barbados, Cayman Islands, Florida. all feature the paintings of Patrick Che- ailler, the underwater master.
