THE VISION OF OLIVIA GOZZANO AT THE LINTERNO CHURCH

FROM PHOTOGRAPHY TO PURE MATTER THE VISION OF OLIVIA GOZZANO AT THE LINTERNO CHURCH OCTOBER 2021 A week of passion for contemporary art that explores the mysteries of time and space, playing with material layers of landscapes, women and ancient icons, on view at the chapel of Chiesa Linterno. Celebrating the rite is Olivia Gozzano, photographer and visual artist who investigates the most surprising revelations of everyday life, composing unconventional impressions of an original contemplation of reality in each canvas. The exhibition displays some twenty works, most of which have never been exhibited before. Starting from the votive exaltation of the figure of the Madonna, ancestral, archetypal, to whom the small parish church on the outskirts of Milan has been dedicated since the 18th century, the exhibition traces the artist's paths of inspiration through vegetal intertwining, landscapes, women, and plastic reproductions on playing cards revised, corrected and interpreted ex novo, with classical and dreamlike suggestions. A mysterious key, but decipherable for true connoisseurs, is the semantic use of the enigmatic form of the rebus, skilfully used by Olivia in a sort of challenge to the viewer who aspires to collect pieces of art with which to converse endlessly. The habitat of the subjects investigated by the artist is the cosmic, lyrical and vast ecumene of time and space, in a dizzying journey between the surreal and the existential. Olivia Gozzano is the interpreter and inventor of a genre that originates from photography and grows in pure living matter, expressing herself with brushstrokes or wax, in a mixture of transfers from imagination to canvas, but also to other supports, wherever there is matter that crosses the spirit.
