About Olga Bezhina

  • Biography
I was born in Russia, in the southern city of Krasnodar in 1981. I have been doing art since 1997 – then I entered an art college, and then, in 2006, I entered the university. Since childhood, I have been fascinated by the idea of the scale and versatility of this world, and at a more meaningful age I tried to convey it in a way accessible to me - through painting. I was constantly in search of my own technique, with which I could convey not only the scale, but also the dynamics of the space around me. In 2011, I succeeded. I called the developed technique tempo-rhythmic painting, which is the application of oil paint on canvas, taking into account the changing physical phenomena around me (falling light, wind movement). As a result, mosaic, structural strokes are obtained, united by a single plot, which allows us to consider the picture not only in its volume and dynamics, but also to observe the changes that occur with it depending on the incidence of light. I paint my paintings only in the open air from nature. Working in a natural environment gives me an emotional charge and inner tension. Being one-on-one with nature, I notice a constant change in light and color, shapes of objects around me under the influence of wind. An infinite variety of colors opens up in front of me, while not a single stroke and shade can be repeated from memory or with the help of photos – I can recreate them only here and now. My workshop is nature. I usually use canvases from 50 cm to 130 cm, but in my practice there are works measuring 3.6 m x 1.8 m. To date, my works are in Europe, USA, Asia, Australia, New Zealand. Especially often they are purchased by collectors from the United States of America. Artfinder attracts me with new features. I hope that this cooperation will lead to even higher sales and interesting projects.
