About Oleksandra Skrypchenko

  • Biography
My name is Oleksandra, I'm from Ukraine. I'm a full-time artist.

The main medium is painting and drawing, I work with watercolor, and ink. Through my watercolor paintings, I strive to capture the essence of these natural landscapes, blending the real and the imagined. I am nearsighted and see the world in patches of color.

Often the blurred forms can be read in different ways, everyone finds a personal reading in certain shapes and colors. Due to my experience and perception of the world, I want to see only beautiful things, so even "garbage" can seem attractive. As opposed to bright and colorful watercolor landscapes, I work on black-and-white nude paintings.

I convey the raw and unfiltered essence of human vulnerability through the interplay of liquid ink and form. I grew up in a very industrialized area of Ukraine. In contrast to the landscape around me, I strive for paintings that express the purity of nature.

I often take part in exhibitions in Ukraine and around the world, I am also published in art magazines.
