About Nigel Wood

  • Biography
I am a painter and printmaker working mainly with landscapes inspired by the wild and open spaces surrounding my home and studio in Cardigan Bay. Much of my work is in acrylic on canvas. I also work in oil, pastel and charcoal. as well as with etching and screen printing. My aim is always to try to create meditative interpretations of the surreal beauty I find around me. Each piece is built up gradually over time with a series of opaque layers and transparent glazes. I have been exhibiting and selling my work continuously since 1984 when I completed my studies in illustration and painting at Carmarthenshire College of Art.
