    Nicola spent 10 years studying Buddhist thangka (scroll) painting and from there developed a unique style of painting with a strong emphasis on colour and detail.  Moving away from the constrictions of iconographic painting. she became interested in the complex landscapes found in ancient thangka paintings. Her travels to Asia led her in the direction of creating a fusion of East and West, forming the basis of her work.

    One of the great court painters in China, the Italian artist Guiseppe Castiglione (Lang Shining), 1688-1766 is a great inspiration for Nicola.  Castiglione incorporated Western-style painting into Chinese art.

    Solo and group exhibitions have been in England and Italy. 

    Nicola has collectors in Europe, Asia and USA.
