About Nicola Colbran

  • Biography
I am firstly a Wildlife Artist and paint creatures, or in fact anything with fur, feathers, scales, wings and wrinkly skin! From mice to lions, bees to rhinos!  Working in both Oil and Watercolour, detail is important to me especially the eyes, windows of the soul....they tell so much.  With watercolour I like to be more playful and have fun with techniques and paint effects.
Working from home in my studio, I feel very blessed indeed that my work enables me to do what I love, to paint is such a joy.  I like to sketch from life and take my own photos when possible, often visiting WHF Big Cat Sanctuary which I support and is close to me in Smarden. I have travelled extensively so have been lucky enough to oserve lots of wildlife in its natural surroundings. I am hugely aware of the terrible problems that face the worlds diminishing wildlife and hope my work will go someway to bringing their beauty and fate to our attention.
I am happy to take commissions on your favourites and furry friends.
