About Nicholas King

I have been painting in oils since the age of 14. I have been exhibiting since the age of 19.
As a student of the artist Robert Ford my work is deeply influenced by William Blake, the Pre-Raphaelites, impressionists and Picasso. The esoteric and poetic are partners in my work, an ongoing attempt to communicate my own psychological point of view.
As a painter I have strayed into many different territories, yet the fastest most economical means of expression remains, for me, canvas and paint.
In a world of easy reproducibility, speedy evolution, and ever more dominant popular culture, love of painting is more important than ever.
