About Ivan Nesvetailo

Ivan Nesvetailo lives and works in Saint Petersburg, Russia. He was born in 1959 in Belgorod. In 1975-1979 he studied at the Art College. After serving in the Army he continued his art education at the Saint Petersburg State Academy of Arts and Design named Baron A. Stieglitz (Department of Monumental Art). The years of study at the Academy (1984-1990) coincided with the time of the Perestroika in Russia.  The artist has opened many paths at once artistic development.

He was actively involved in the creative process, worked in different directions and began to participate in the exhibitions while still a student. The greatest influence on the formation of the artist’s creative method was Russian avant-garde and German neo-expressionism.

In 1993-94 the artist has worked in the décor workshop of the Mariinsky Theatre,  Saint Petersburg. 

In 1994 he took part in the International Symposium on Art in Mukhachevo, Ukraine. Received First Prize and a tour to Hungary and France.

In 1998-1990 Ivan Nesvetailo led a course at the St. Petersburg State Academy of Service and Economics (Department of Fashion Design).

In 2002-2008 he made the aquvarel series with images of historical interiors of the Stroganov Palace (The State Russian museum).

In 2015 he conducted master classes and an exhibition in Italy (Lombardy Province) and was awarded the Medal of the Museum of Modern Art of the town Luzzana for his contribution to the development of Russian-Italian artistic ties.

In 2003-2019 he elaborated a number of design projects in private and public interiors (wall paintings, paintings, decorations).
