About Nersel Muehlen

  • Biography
Step into a world of vibrant colors, cultural richness, and soulful expressions with my contemporary art collection. Each piece tells a unique story, from the striking portraits capturing the essence of humanity to the oil paintings inspired by global travels and ethnic diversity. With every brushstroke, I aim to infuse my creations with empathy, curiosity, and love, inviting viewers to connect with the beauty and wonder of the world.

After a rewarding 15-year career in the business world, I embarked on a new journey dedicated to the pursuit of artistic expression. Through rigorous training at prestigious institutions like New School, NYU, and the New York Academy of Art, I honed my skills and delved into various art forms and techniques. Drawing inspiration from seasoned artists and master painters, I refined my craft, embracing the intricacies of the old masters' technique to bring depth and authenticity to my work.

In 2016, my passion for art was showcased at the esteemed Earth exhibit held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City, where my "Faces of the World" collection captivated audiences with its powerful storytelling and cultural diversity. Since then, my artistic journey has been a continuous exploration of creativity, expression, and personal growth.

I invite you to enrich your home with the vibrant hues and cultural narratives of my artwork. Whether you're drawn to the captivating gaze of my portraits or the evocative storytelling of my still life compositions, each piece offers a window into the world as seen through my eyes. Let my art adorn your walls, adding warmth, color, and culture to your living space, and allowing it to inspire, delight, and ignite your imagination with every glance.

TURNING AI IMAGES INTO ORIGINAL ART

As a classically trained oil painting artist, I am constantly inspired by the diversity of the faces of the world, different costumes, expressions, cultures, and emotions. While the photo reference is AI-generated, the artwork itself is not. Each piece is a completely handmade, original, one-of-a-kind painting. Instead of viewing AI technology as a threat, I see it as an opportunity to reverse engineer and transform the AI images into unique artworks. AI represents the future of creativity and is undoubtedly here to stay. What matters most for artists is how we harness this technology to create beauty and lasting original pieces. Just as individual knowledge is built upon the collective wisdom of humanity, AI images are a culmination of everything created until now. My intention is to translate this cumulative creativity into individual expression and share it with the world. As an oil painting artist, I consider it my duty to present beauty and share my creations with others, enriching the world with artistry and imagination.
