About Neil Horsefield

  • Biography
My studio practice is fine art painting, based language theory, considering the artwork as a location for narrative, correspondence and departure. There are art historical references that reflect a modern art aesthetic that involve junctures of influence that inform the visual language thematically in individual or serial works, narrative correspondence or departures explore questions relative to the persistence of vision and memory as well as placing together elements from high art romantism and the everyday. I consider knowledge and belief or truth to be fluid concepts that through reflection and analysis produce work that can stimulate a conversation or ideas that help to understand what being alive means. My work is I hope solefull curious and considered. Selling this work is for me an act of communication that will start a dialogue with people I have yet to meet. I share studio space with three other Masters graduates and from Cambridge UK, where we also collaborate and critique. I hope the my work through visual translation will continuously create new narratives and contribute to a visually inquisitive experience.
