  • Biography
I love making pictures. Picture making is something I have done my whole life. I have been 'artschooled' and have pursued a career with my art skills all my adult life. I took up oil painting 10 years ago and immediately started to sell my work. I constantly have a painting to do or several to finish at any time. A day spent without any time picking up a paint brush is a day lost. Painting for me represents the time I have reserved for me. I paint for me. Happily other people want the pictures I paint. Eventually everything I paint is purchased and finds a home with a new owner. This outcome leaves me feeling very content. It is the high point of my picture making adventure in life so far. I worked commercially with publishers as an illustrator for 17 years and that satisfaction never came close to having an individual respond to your work in such a way as wanting to buy it from you and even collect it. The buyers I have encountered so far have typically over the years bought 4 - 5 paintings from me, occasionally more. It is time for me to broaden my experience of painting and find new buyers who will love my work. I want to produce more paintings than I currently do and find more people who will appreciate them. Artfinder strikes me as a space reserved for an audience who love pictures and who wish for the opportunity to own the work they love the most. Artfinder feels like a place that has been genuinely created to give art lovers and artists a great opportunity to connect. I often say to those who are interested in my paintings that I want to love my painting when I paint it - but mostly I want my painting to love me back. Having other peoples appreciation of my effort is key to that balance, thats how the love I put into it comes back.
