About Nathalie Tousnakhoff
Biography
Nathalie Tousnakhoff has been
drawing and painting since childhood. After studying drawing and
painting at the École Martenot and then at the Beaux-Arts de
Rennes, she graduated from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts
Décoratifs de Paris in 1991.
She works «in the old way», in
glazes on wood panels, drawing her inspiration from the Flemish
Primitives and the Italian Renaissance, but also from more recent
Scandinavian painting. Her paintings are an invitation to calm, to
celebrate interiority and to contemplate nature, in all its beauty and
strangeness.
Besides, she practices calligraphy and engraving, and teaches engraving at the Atelier de la Main gauche in Toulouse.
She regularly exhibits in France and abroad. Her works are in private collections in France, Switzerland and Luxembourg.
