About Natalie Levkovska

  • Biography
"I like the literary style of magical realism. I feel the world around me the same way: very objective and unconventional at the same time. Therefore, in my works I like to display real objects of life and try to display the magical pulsation of space. In painting, I mix a few art techniques: somewhere I write a palette knife, sometimes I write with neat voluminous strokes that look like a mosaic, and in some places very carefully I write down the details. Plots of works are taken from my life: a glade of birches near the house at different times of the year and days, a portrait of a beloved man, a self-portrait with a monkey on a shoulder, a village in the snow… It's simple."
1995-1999 studies at Vilnius Academy of Arts and in 1999. Bachelor's degree in Costume Design; 1990-1995 studies at the Abramtsevo College of Applied Arts and in 1995 obtained a bachelor's degree in stone, bone and wood processing from an artist-master. After the Academy, she worked as a costume designer at the Lithuanian Film Studio, and later as a fur designer in Šilutė. 2006 went to England, where she changed her creative profile, began working in a design studio in London as an artist-decorator, and at the same time began painting with oil. Since 1995 participates in exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad. Natalie have organized 20 personal exhibitions, participated in 14 joint paintings and drawings exhibitions.
Member of the Lithuanian Artists' Association since 2020.
