  • Biography

    Hello, dear art lover.

My name is Natalia Podlesnaia, and I am an artist.
Art is an essential part of my life.

Originally, I am from the Republic of Moldova. I studied painting at the University of Art and Design in Cluj-Napoca, Romania (Alma Mater, 2003). After, I continued my art education and earned a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts (2008) and a Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.) in the Study of Arts (2015).

Now I live and paint in Rivoli (TORINO), Italy.
I have exhibited in numerous group and one-person shows and received awards, including the Award of Excellence from the Government of the Republic of Moldova (2011).

My preferred techniques are oil, acrylic, and mixed media. My tools are brushes and pallet knives, which help me to model the light. The primal goal of my art is to capture light, which can express atmosphere and feeling in the work. Starting a new painting, I am questioning myself about the emotions I want to give. It gives life to my works of art, helps me find the deeper meaning behind the subjects, and captures more than just a simple form or an object.
