Biography
Croatian artist, Silvija Horvat (also known under the pseudonym Natadamano), is a diverse and highly skilled creator who is known for her unique style of acrylic painting, which she has named "frothing." This technique involves the use of thick acrylic paint that is applied to the canvas and then manipulated with a narrow stream of water from a sprayer in a purely intuitive process. The resulting works are truly one-of-a-kind abstract and impressionistic creations that showcase Silvija's talent and artistic vision. In addition to her "frothing" paintings, Silvija is also skilled in creating vivid and realistic lighthouse paintings that capture the beauty and grandeur of these iconic structures.
In the series of "Lone Tree" paintings, Silvija moves away from her signature "frothing" technique and presents a more simplified, minimalist interpretation of nature. These paintings explore themes of isolation and courage through a surreal, almost cartoonified style that is both thought-provoking and visually striking. Through the quiet, expressionless trees depicted in these works, Silvija conveys the idea that sometimes, it is better to leave certain things unsaid.
In addition to her career as an artist, Silvija is also an electrical engineer and inventor with a wealth of conceptual ideas. She established the brand Natadamano long before she knew what it would represent, and it has since become a testament to her creativity and determination as a creator. Whether through her intricate and expressive "frothing" paintings or her more stripped-down and conceptual "Lone Tree" series, Silvija's art is sure to inspire and engage viewers from all walks of life.
“Nata-da-Mano means to me born by hands - something much more than simply
handmade.”
Silvija joined Artfinder in 2015 and within a year has become one of top 200 Arfinder's abstract artists.
