About Mine Okur

  • Biography
Although I studied graphic design, I have always seen myself closer to graphic arts. Therefore, I worked in the field of illustration and animation in my professional life. I have been working in the field of printmaking for the last two years. I love to draw and doodle by hand. I transfer my drawings to the computer environment and conclude the process with image processing softwares. I apply these works sometimes by digital printing and sometimes by serigraphy. From time to time I also work on different surfaces such as fabric and ceramic. I've always been fascinated by old miniature paintings and mythology. In my work, I usually focus on living things. I prefer to use them together as a whole. Because I believe that life is one with all beings. I create intertwined stories hidden within each of my works, but I want the audience to interpret these stories.

Nature has been an inspiring source for artists and designers since the existence of art. How nature reveals a texture, an isolated form or a symmetrical or vice versa has always been the subject of science and art. Forms in nature come before artistic form. I have brought all these forms to life by associating them with my own perspective and inner world and using the silkscreen printing technique.

There were 55 artworks consisting of 30 prints, 23 charcoal sketches and 2 canvas paintings.

24 digital paintings on a variety of subjects, such as abstractions and stylizations of natural objects.
