About Mina Ilic

  • Biography

Some of the subject matter in my art explores people's daily routines and comments on human nature. By engaging with subjects to critically examine social, political, and cultural issues, my work reproduces familiar visual signs and arranges them into new, conceptually layered pieces. My aim is to provoke thought and reflection, encouraging viewers to see the ordinary through a fresh lens. I draw inspiration from everyday interactions, moments that might otherwise go unnoticed, and recontextualize them to highlight their significance and underlying complexities.

Through this process, I challenge conventional perceptions and invite audiences to question the norms and narratives that shape our society. The visual language I employ is intentionally familiar, making my art accessible while simultaneously prompting deeper inquiry. By juxtaposing elements from different contexts, I create a dialogue within each piece that resonates on multiple levels, revealing hidden connections and encouraging a reevaluation of the world around us.
