About Milda Valentiene
Biography
Milda Valentiene (born 1985) is a painter based in Lithuania.
The inspiration for my paintings comes in many different forms: through dreams, stories, childhood memories, the disappearing boundary between the self and the experience, uniting with the fields, forests and rivers, becoming a lonely wind or a storm cloud far in the horizon, or when the dark bottom of the lake becomes my eyes while the night is the shadow of my soul where I'm able to find my way. Everytime my inspiration is a walk into an eternal forest through the ritual of initiation when I discover myself that I have not known before.
I studied in Vilnius Academy of Arts, Faculty of Kaunas, did an internship in Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts (Krakow). She has held more than one personal art and sculpture exibition and has also I been awarded the National Grant for the Arts.
