About Midge

  • Biography
Midge is an award winning multi disciplined mixed media self-taught professional artist who thoroughly enjoys working in painting/drawing and teaching art to all ages. Her main specialties include painterly and colourful Landscapes, Seascapes, Figurative and Portraiture works executed in Fine Art or Contemporary / Abstract Expressionist styles using only the very best artist quality paints, supports and materials.

Midge loves the challenge of painting any subject in any medium and is most captivated by colour, mood and atmosphere along with exploring ways in which to combine and push the boundaries of the media she uses to achieve the desired result or effect. Most of her works include pastel/dry media, oil, acrylic & mixed media, encaustic or in some cases a combination of these.

Mayors Choice Award 2016 - Cheshire Open Studios Annual Exhibition

I was delighted to receive this award for my painting Pink Skies in the Valley which was selected and awarded by Mayor of Macclesfield Cllr Alit Harewood-Jones at Charles Roe House in Macclesfield.

Cheshire Open Studios is a project where professional local artists in Cheshire annually exhibit together and open their studio doors to the public to visit and see how they work. I had participated in this event since 2010 and enjoy people coming to see and buy my work straight from the studios.

It was a great honour to receive this award from the Mayor who said she chose the painting because "it dances with light and colour".
