About Michael L. Wrytha

  • Biography
    Michael Wrytha
    Manchester. 1987. Painter

My Artwork primary concern is visual form, I set out with an idea that comes from life experiences, thoughts, failures and contradictions pursuing the human condition. This body of work is influencing the feeling of the viewer.

    2015-2017
These pieces are based on conceptual characters that give the viewers a look at themselves, having inner struggles of contemporary emotional issues, in a perspective working class background. The disintegration of culture that is lost being from another country has been a concern in this work. The leading problem associated from a loss of tradition with a link in a destruction of socializing due to technology and social media. These paintings are what the viewer can relate having a similar and emotional background.
The ideas are presented through portraits of a character that either have an interesting emotional look, pose or background painted in a traditional way.

    2017- Present.
The later works have been developing into movement captured in the canvas as a soul leaves a trail of paint. These are sort of a dream like state questioning beauty and vanity.

My paintings have been sold to clients, from all over the world including e.g USA, Canada, China, Australia and Europe. I have sold up to 50 paintings from 2007

The paintings: All my work is signed and a certificate is also included, all paintings are ready to hang.

    About
Music from Gorgeous Bully, Young Myths and John Ainsworth
and Art from Michael Wryte, Jake Haigh and Josh McKeown
Sensory Soundscapes presents a unique night combining the finest talent in music and art. Marvel at the creative talent from a variety of artists whilst being entertained by some of Manchester's finest musicians.

    Gorgeous Bully
Originally the solo work of Thomas Crang, Gorgeous Bully moved from Plymouth to Manchester and formed a full band. Having supported Joanna Gruesome and been featured multiple times in NME, this grungy lo-fi pop band are definitely one to watch out for. Their EP 'Nobody Hates You as Much as You Hate Yourself' is a celebration of misery and loneliness with a cheery background.

    Young Myths
Another band to have frequented the pages of NME, Young Myths are a very new band hailing from Cheetham Hill. With a few select yet valuable gigs under their belt including a support slot with Woman's Hour and shows for well-known Manchester promoter Now Wave, Young Myths have made the most promising of starts.

    John Ainsworth
John Ainsworth is a singer-songwriter with a difference. Crafting haunting songs on his 12-string acoustic, John combines his virtuosic playing with influences such as Radiohead as well as folk and blues. Not a stranger to the Manchester scene and with years of experience, his most notable gig to date was supporting The Charlatans at Delamere Forest and he is certain to have many more.
