About Michael Fenton

  • Biography
I began drawing when I was eight years old and have never stopped. I painted in oils for a long time but when I saw the watercolor paintings of Charles Reid, I changed over to watercolor attempting to capture the light and fluidity of watercolor the way Charles is able to put it on paper. My drawings are very different in that I have been most profoundly influenced by the work of Ralph Steadman and an Ohio based artist Mauricio Lasansky. I am moved by how their drawings don't just capture the image but rather the essence of the subject.
