About Matthew Benington

  • Biography

I am a Royal College of Art printmaking graduate of 2012. I have exhibited work internationally in numerous exhibitions, these include Saatchi New Sensations, and the Saatchi Grand Palais, Paris. My sculptural work and larger prints are on permanent display in a number of collections, including the Fuss, and Tremenheere sculpture park. Directly before attending the Royal College I gained a first from University College Falmouth in 2010. Painting has always been an essential part of my practice. In my second year of study it was the revelatory discovery of aquatint, and painted acid resist that translated painterly marks into the language of intaglio etching.
