  • Biography

    After completing a BA in fine art photography Bristol based photographer/artist Martin Thompson has gained interest and respect throughout the artistic community.

    Martin uses the interplay between many mediums that have been moulded and developed into a unique personal painterly style, with iconic, romantic and poetic qualities.

    Many mediums and techniques are applied combining the use of photography, oils, chemical reticulation, printing, image transfer, digital manipulation, construction material and the use of pinhole cameras all used to build multi layered textural images pieced together to produce beautiful pieces of art.

    thefacecollective is Martin's latest project with an objective to shoot 5000 artist’s portraits using cameras and photographic processes dating back to the mid 1800’s.

    Over 1600 portraits are complete and the first exhibition is scheduled for 2020

    With his desire to self fund the project without the aid of sponsorship or endorsements makes the pre-sale of the artwork imperative to help this body of work to evolve
