About Mark Harrison

  • Biography
Although my work is diverse in subject matter there is a common thread that runs through it all, an obsession with colour and mood. Whether it is a landscape, still life or figurative my initial thoughts about the painting will usually be based on an idea about a colour or combination of colours that will get across the mood and atmosphere that I intend to evoke. Sometimes my work has a surreal feel to it, sometimes it can be humorous albeit often manifesting on the dark side! A lot of my recent work falls within a new genre in art, Imaginative Realism.
