    Mark Barrable is a contemporary fine artist living in the Cambridge area. His career has been varied. He built a successful career as a portrait artist specialising in photo realism. He has also turned his hand to prop design for ITV and Corpus Playhouse Cambridge and featured work in ROOTS magazine. He grew tired of these mediums and after struggles with mental illness and alcohol began painting in an expressionistic yet still figurative style. Barrable's work flourished as a result tackling many themes such as mental health, alcoholism, death, religion and sex.  Barrable has exhibited many times is the Cambridge area and London to high acclaim. Cambridge collector Oliver Curtis said of Barrable's work. "It's like eating nails. Bacon meets Basquiat for the 21st century."
