About Marian Gorin

  • Biography

As an artist, I find my creative expression balanced between the fluidity of watercolor and the boldness of acrylic. My watercolor pieces embody a delicate blend of realism and abstraction. Through intricate depictions, like serene birch forests juxtaposed with vibrant foliage, I capture the texture and tranquility of nature. The use of fine lines and washes of color evokes a sense of calmness and quiet beauty, inviting viewers into a dreamlike world.

In my abstract acrylic works, I craft each piece in an organic, spontaneous manner. Much like Rothko, I like to use horizontal color fields on portrait-oriented canvases to create visually striking and unexpected effects. By placing these expansive bands of color within vertical confines, I challenge traditional landscape perceptions, transforming the interaction with color into a profound emotional journey. My process evolves with each stage, building upon the last and allowing for unexpected discoveries and adjustments. This journey continues until the final piece emerges, shaped by layers of color, form, texture, and surface.

In my acrylics I often use unconventional objects and tools to create unique marks, capturing the essence and beauty of naturally weathered elements. Every artwork is a singular expression, truly one-of-a-kind, reflecting a harmonious blend of technique, intuition, and a deep connection with the natural world.
