Biography
My name is Luis Lopez. I'm a puerto rican artist based in Hamburg, Germany. My paintings and drawings are unique, well thought out and with an playful sense of the human existence. The themes of my pieces are diverse, but most of the time I base myself on everyday situations, on how human beings relate to their environment, how it influences our daily actions. Many times in my pieces the magical and the real verge on the surreal, thus creating a piece in which the viewer can form various interpretations of what he sees. I can also add that in my pieces irony plays an essential role. The characters in my pieces, for better or for worse, are normally subjected to mysterious and unknown situations where they have had to be without perhaps having asked for it. Topics such as past and contemporary situations of the human collective, the influence of technology in our lives, science evolution, religion, universal history, literature, cultures, universal politics, philosophy have always been topics that have attracted me a lot and that, in one way or another, I try to reflect in my art from a personal point of view.
