Wales's Biggest Open Art Studio / Helfa Gelf Art Trail
Helfa Gelf /Art Trail, North Wales’ biggest Open Studio Event, invites you to visit artists at work in their studios this September.
Now in its 12th year, this free annual event is spread right across North Wales with studios taking part in Gwynedd, Conwy, Flintshire, Denbighshire and Wrexham. It is a unique chance for visitors to peek behind the scenes, experience this normally hidden world and get to chat to the artists and crafts people about their creative process.
Every weekend this September, forge your own art trail around the area, calling in on painters, sculptors, photographers, jewellery makers, woodworkers, potters, textile workers, glass makers, basket weavers, printers, each one with a highly individual skill. Seeing an artist in action, chatting over a cup tea amongst the paints, clay and saw-dust gives you a real insight into the artistic process.

CHART art collective
CHART is a small, Cheshire based collective of
visual artists interested in the ability of art to
communicate on an intuitive and intellectual
level. The artists have a particular interest in the
links between all the arts and sciences, and in
structure, time, words, numbers and symbols. They
share a deep sense of the connectivity of human
experience, our relationship with nature and the
importance of spirituality. References to all these
elements are evident in their work. Their new
exhibition COAST examines the elemental nature
of our shorelines, the interaction of land and sea as
well as the beauty and power of the littoral.
