About Lori Hanson

I work in the impressionist style and feel that the dazzling array of colours in nature do not need exaggerating. Instead, I attempt to capture nature's inherent Glory that is often missed in this busy life. There's something exhilarating about sketching "en plein air" with the sunshine and breeze on my face. I soak up all the colours and texture of the outdoors and then complete a finished oil painting in my studio. My paintings evoke peaceful self reflection and soul searching. I use soft dreamy colours, energetic brushwork and a bit of thick impasto texture.
