    Loss

This was the first piece I made following the loss of my beloved horse who I was lucky enough to have in my life for 18 years. Although this piece is not for sale I have gone on to create several pieces which explore the relationship we have with our horses. It is a bond like no other and my love for horses inspires me every day.

    Graphite drawings

    Graphite drawings

Occasionally I create drawings using graphite pencils. My sculptures are made spontaneously, without referring to sketches, so to create a realistic drawing uses very different skills, ones which I am always looking to develop.

    Pheasant commission

    Pheasant commission

I was recently commissioned to create a sculpture of a pheasant. Living in the Yorkshire Dales they are a regular sight, often venturing into gardens in search of stray bird feed to sustain themselves over the winter months.

    Commissioned life-size bull in copper.

    Commissioned life-size bull in copper.

I have made several commissions for customers old and new, but a request to create a life-size bull in the grounds of a stunning Manoir in Brittany was an offer I was thrilled to accept. He is made from copper and will gradually darken and weather to form a beautiful mix of russets, browns and verdigris. At the moment he is shiny and golden and the sunlight reflects strongly off him making him appear ghostly and ethereal. It will be interesting to see how he evolves over time.

The little sculpture behind me is one of my first pieces that sold through Artfinder back in 2016.
