About Les Powderhill

I have always been passionate about art, I could draw from a very young age seemingly without being taught .I look at everything from the art point of view and the visual rules my life.I started painting in my late teens and used to sell paintings to supplement my low wages as an engineering apprentice.I used to sit on the quay in St Ives painting and selling my stuff to supplement my holidays ! I ran a business for 40 years that relied heavily on my artistic input ,designing interiors with many sketches per day performed. Now that I am retired I have been spending many hours per week painting ,it is a vocation that I probably should have immersed myself in from the start! I have had no formal training , I wouldn't like other peoples influence!
